Ruby Throated Hummingbird (Archillochus colubris)
I saw my first hummingbird in the garden today most likely a ruby throated, very fast, landed on the Agastache plant and very quickly flew into a tree to perch. The Ruby-throated is the most common hummingbird and truly spectacular, especially the male with its ruby throat and iridescent green coloring.

American Goldfinch (Spinus Tristis)
The goldfinches love the garden, but they tend to be very shy and leave when we arrive. These are fun birds to have in your garden, they are fast movers and make a wonderful cheery sound.
Eastern Swallow tail (Papilio Glaucus)
Beautiful swallow tail, loves the butterfly bush in particular.
Barn Swallows
These purply blue birds with primarily white belly, accented with some burnt orange near the neckline. They swooped playfully snatching insects in the garden before getting scared off by the circling hawks.
I presume they live in the nearby barn.
